Georgia Chief Information Officer

The real title of my position was Vice Chancellor for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, Board of Regents, University System of Georgia. My responsibilities were to provide statewide services to the 36 public universities in the state. Each of these universities had a chief information officer so there were services they would provide and services we would provide. Four of these universities would be characterized as research universities (Augusta University, Georgia State, Georgia Institute of Technology, and University of Georgia), four universities were regional universities (Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State, Valdosta State, and West Georgia), three were historically black universities (Albany State, Fort Valley, and Savannah State). The remaining 25 were colleges and universities around the state providing access to higher education. I was going to be putting a lot of miles on my car.

There are sixteen different sections to my journey as the Vice Chancellor and CIO for the University System of Georgia and they have descriptive and sometimes humorous titles.
