I don’t have any regrets from my first job as the Chief Information Officer. Like computer science, this was a natural fit to my leadership and intellect. It requires incredible leadership, prioritization, multitasking, technical expertise, and risk management. You will never have enough resources. If you are good at what you do, you will have overwhelming demand for services. You also have nearly endless political power. You can never fix everything but you can make things better than you found them and leave the rest for your successor.
